I bought my LG with forced air and eggs turner years agoe to hatch keets. I had good sucess back in 2003 but since then have had life style changes and moved around and purchased chicks instead. But again I stable and caught the hatching fever from BYC .
Last month with 12 EE and 6 bantam purchashed from BYC I had a total failure, too many mistakes not carefully reading of instructions too much handling etc. Since then I have read and re read all I can and started again usind one doz eggs from a BYC neighbor. Once again mistakes although the temperature ahs been very stable it has been a bit lower than 99.5 as per instructions. However the humidty has been the real issue so I thought I would try DRY INCUBATION and add water only on lock down.
Big Mistake here I live in the desert and did not have a hygrometer until near lock down. Humidty has been below recommended when I finally used a hygrometer. Well I have increased the humidity and temperature. The temp is now stable at 99.5 but the humidty is still hard to maintain above 60 withou frequently adding warmed water.
OK I live in the desert and the eggs are most likely absorbing some since they must be dehydrated by now. I just wanted to keep this hatch working to see if I can maintain a stable enviroment because..........................BIG Problem is I have $75 worth of three BTC orders due to arrive some time this week. HELP please
This is day 24 and no sign of pipping except I opened a egg last night and it was fully formed and breathing albeit for a short time until it drowned, had shock from the cold and bleed to death (killed)
What next ?
