Use neosporin type antibiotic - it keeps the area from infection, and keep it moist so they can poop. If the area hardens up so it can't poop, warm water on a clean rag, or paper towel, and let it soak until it has softened, and wipe GENTLY, then reapply neosporin.

Mine wants picking up and cuddling, and I still get scratched

Looks like I can't get antibiotic cream in the UK
Think its because of the risk of resistance to bacteria
Best we can get here is germoline or save on antiseptic cream!

Yes, it's an antibiotic ointment for people. You might find something similar at feed store in the UK, don't know.

I think I'd struggle pet shops and feed stores need to be licenced to sell flea drops and worm tablets! Not much chance of getting antibiotics
I think I'd get it from my vets ( agricultural vets practice) but it will be expensive, prob cheaper to pay USA postage
