So as stated in the title, I might be dealing with a runt and it's my first time encountering one. I just recently purchased 3 barred rocks. I feather sexed them (Im not good aha) but im sure I have a roo and 2 hens. Only thing, one of the hens is EXTREMELY tiny compared to her siblings. They're around 2 weeks old and have their wing feathers grown in except that little one! She just seems so underdeveloped.. Do I put her down? How do I accommodate? Eats, drinks, and poops fine but is LOUD.

I definitely wouldn’t put her down if she doesn’t seem to be in any pain. I had this happen to a batch of chicks I got from Atwood’s. One wasn’t growing barely at all. Every day I would expect to find it dead, turned out to be a very small sweet sultan. Just keep her fed and hope for the best maybe?

Definitely not a bantam. I have 12 bantams of a breed I dont know aha. She is smaller than the bantam chicks that hatched a week ago.

Here she is with her sibling who i presume is also a female. Its not clear because my floor is black and my attempt to add contrast failed but she is half the size and weight. Yes, I put my chickens onto a scale lol

She's "normal" except for size, eating/drinking/pooping ... I'd keep her & see how it goes. There was a thread of this chicken that was growing & normal but feathers weren't developing, he was bald...Can't recall the title of the thread. He never developed/grew feathers until he was a few months old. Will look for the thread, if I find it will let you all know. Was something about "Frankenstein"

This might be my thread you are talking about. I called him Little Bit, my Teenage Mutant not so Ninja Chicken.
I have 3 Australorps in my flock 1 was half the size of the others and very slow to feather. They are 13 weeks now and he is a little more than half the size of the other roo. His back feathers finally started to show up about a week ago. I worried that I might have to make him a hen apron just to keep him warm in the winter. He still has a fluffy curly (frizzle like) tail.
He is healthy and has a good personality. He postures with the other cockerel for position but understands his 2nd place and gets along with the girls.
