Help I think I have all cockerels! And what breed are these two mystery chickens?

Caribhoney, I just wanted to clarify the age. Are these chicks (now teenagers) 5 months old (got them two onths ago and they were 3 months old when you got them)?

As others have said, Brahmas should have a pea comb so #1 is a mix. If they really are 5 months old, they should be close to the point of lay and it would be normal to have a pink comb. In fact, I would expect the combs to be really red of they were cockerels. The other factor is that Brahmas are generally slow to mature and I think can be difficult to sex, so I wouldn't comment one way or another without more information.

Sorry, I don't know Polish so no help here from me.

As for Frizzles, you should be aware that if they get two copies of the Frizzle gene, the feathers can be very brittle and you will get semi-naked chickens. I am not saying that this is the case with yours, but if the feathers grow in and break all the time, or if they fail to grow in at all, this might be the case.

yes you are correct they are now 5mths old, and after ample research I have become exhausted. I knew they were slow maturing but they just appear to be contradictions to my guess every week. I saw a picture of a 4nth old brahma cockerel and he had a huge comb and these barely have any...so I figured hens...But then again they fight as if they are roosters, but then they bickered with my new hen for a week through the separation fence (definitely a hen)...so???
Though brahma number one has much pinker combs they are still probably the same size has #2 and then they both have those greenish feathers?
That was a concern of mine concerning the frizzle, but when I got he/she at 3mths she was ALMOST NAKED, so it has improved a lot but I don't really know for sure if they are actually breaking or not.

Thanks so much for help if you guys hadn't mentioned the comb I would never had noticed the difference!

for the frizzle have you tried dusting for mites/lice? if not try doing that as certain types of mites/lice can cause feather loss. as for the gender, the cockerels all should have the long slender pointed saddles already at 5 months since those start to come in around 13-15 weeks so they should be visible by now. you could try and take a colored piece of cloth or paper and place it under the hackles, using only 2-4 feathers spread out on it, to see if they are pointed or rounded if they are rounded then they are pullets if pointed cockerels. i would recommend doing this with several different feathers so you will end up looking at at least maybe up to 20. i will take a closer look at this pics in a few mins.

this one is hard it sorta looks like a cockerel but its hard to tell

these are also hard to tell they sorta look like pullets though

I Don't see any saddle feathers on that brahma either but it does have that greenish feather. Is there any breed that you know of that they could be mixed with that has hens with green tail feathers?

the lack of thick feathering on their legs suggest another breed in the mix is clean legged

I will check that out later, I have inspected those hackle feathers for hours like a crazy person but I didn't try laying it on anything.

i find it is a lot easier to tell on birds that are solid colored and have hackle patterns that if you use something colored under them it does help a lot :)

After prepping for what was to be a hurricane and reinforcing pens...

I have looked at the brahma's hackle feathers, and both brahmas appear to be pointed...the first one (MR buttons) is slightly more pointed but to me the other one is as well.
ugh...the suspense is killing me :)
Mr buttons is very friendly, he will come and let me pick him up his counterpart is a little more skiddish and apprehensive. Mr buttons pecked at my 9wk olds pullets that I tried introducing but he other did not.
Mr buttons is significantly larger, though they both free range and have access to same feed.
It is those iridescent green feathers that have thrown a wrench into my mind......I just don't know of any females with that....but then again since they are mixes maybe the cross produced it..... :( don't know :(

I Appreciate everyone's help/suggestions/guesses and for uncovering the fact that they are mixes :)

Also, I looked at my barred rock old hen and her hackle is pointed to me as well??? goodness I just can't get it right
