HELP I THINK MY ROOSTER IS DYING?!?!?

So the heavy breathing you are describing..how are you noticing this if his beak if close? Is his neck muscles going in and out deeply? Explain this more..what you're seeing.

His comb is the red spikey thing on top of his head.

The crop is on the right side of chest and should be a bit of ball shape at the end of the day (after eating all day). If he hasn't eaten and its a ball shape, then it could be impacted, but I would assess that after a night of sleep to make sure. First thing is the morning it should be flat.

Have you seen any of his stools (bowel movements)? Explain if it's runny, hard, color, etc. Look for worms as well.

Green stools is not a good sign. That usually means they're not eating.

Can you dribble some fresh water on the side of his beak and try to convince him to take a drink? If that works, try some oatmeal or yogurt to get him taking something. You don't want him to dehydrate and that happens fast.

i can tell because he is using his ecessory muscles when he breaths. i didn't notice and lump on his chest, i havb't actually seem him ppop yet....his comb is red.

Ok i will try the water thing... :S

Thanks guys!! i will chicke back in a bit!!

Hi, see if you can get him to eat anything. Maybe some yogurt and some gatorade in his water. Cooked oatmeal is another suggestion. I would definately have a stool sample checked at the vet tomorrow if you can. He could have some sort of parasite. Scramble an egg and see if he will eat that. Keep him warm and quiet until you see some improvement.

Thanks for your help guys. Unfortunatly Kellog passed away at 2047
