I bought a teenage silkie two days ago. I have noticed that she sniffles and shivers sometimes. She eats, drinks, and is active. She is in quarantine, because soon, I will interigate her into my mini silkie flock. How long should I quarantine her??? What is wrong????????!!!!!!

I wouldn't buy another full grown chicken again. The amount of post regarding this problem is incredible.

Keep her separated until she feels better.Unless her disease might spread to your current flock.I really dont know what you mean when you say she sniffles and shivers. Is she shaking? How old is she?

She is a teenager. Sometimes I notice that she shakes and makes little sniffling noises. But she only does it ever so often.

Her shaking is very mild. You can only tell if she's shaking be looking at her tail. It's more like vibrating, tho. I don't know her EXACT age....

No heat. The lady I got her from had her raised outside with her mother. She might be cold, because she skeps in my house and since it's hot in GA I keep my house colder. She stops vibrating when I take her outside in the hot weather... I guess it's that.
