I found my 2 year old BO on the ground today. She has had diarrea bad for the last 2 weeks. I've keeped her washed but she is getting worse.
She is not breathing hard. I think her belly is hard but I'm not sure. She is weak. I have her in warm water right now just incase it's egg binding.
What else can I do?

I'm sorry she is not well, i can't help you as i'm pretty new to chicken keeping but hopefully some one will come along and help you.

Feel her tummy just below her vent. Don't be afraid to press firmly if you need to and feel if there is an egg there. If there is, you're gonna have to remove it because after 2 weeks of being so sick, she's too weak to push it out. You can find more information about helping an egg bound hen by using the search function at the top right of your screen.

If she has had diarrea for a while she could be dehydrated. Get a syringe of water and gently squert it into her mouth. You need to make sure she is drinking.

I wouldn't recommend squirting it into her mouth but rather just allowing a drop at a time to touch the tip of her beak and it will run down the side of her beak and she will take it in. Squirting it down her throat will cause water to enter her trachea and lungs. Vitamin water is best if you have some liquid vitamins to add to the water.

I would use Save-a-chick in her water. Before you go trying to force her to drink try some water in a shallow dish and just touch her beak to it and see if she will drink or you could try a spoon. If you dont have any save-a-chick or any other vitamins just add a little sugar for energy.

Going to try it now. I've got her in a heated room in the workshop. I showed her some feed and she pecked at it once then nothing. But I'll try the sugar water. I don't have anything else.
Will let you know thanks
