We hatched some chicks a little bit ago and now they are two months old and I'm curious about their gender. Their dad was some kind of black EE and most of their parents are backyard mixes + two Rode Island Reds. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

First up this is Licorice:

I'm thinking male because his comb is pretty red and he seems to be developing sickle feathers.

Next is Autumn:

I'm pretty sure she's a female.

This is Brimstone (Brim for short):

Not sure about this one. He has a weirdly deep voice and is on the bigger side, so I'm thinking maybe male? His coloring is weird too, he's more of a chalky black without any iridescence on his feathers and the color on his cape is more yellow rather than the orange-red like the others. As a baby he also had much shorter fluff.

Here is Pumpkin:

I think Pumpkin is a male because although his comb is still pretty pale I definitely think he has some sickle feathers. Is the red on his wing male specific?

This is Spring:

She is the smallest and I'm pretty positive she is a female.

Next up is Lightning:

I wanna say this one is a male. He also has a deep voice and is one the bigger side, but none of his fathering is really telling me male yet.

And here is Treble:

I'm not sure about him but I'm kinda leaning towards male. He has a problem with his foot and we didn't fix it fast enough so we might decide to put him down.

This here is Thunder:

I'm pretty sure she is a female.

And finally this is Amber:

At first I thought Amber was a girl and none of her feathers show otherwise yet (as far as I can tell), but she has a pretty red comb so I'm not sure.

So yeah, these are my babies. I think they all inherited the puffy check feathers from their dad and I'm excited to see their egg colors, and to hear your opinions on their genders and maybe their breed mixtures as well. Thanks!
