Since you are in the UK there is a chance it could be an exchequer leghorn or a mottled ancona. Either way it will be black with white spots/patches.

I'm guessing by its chick coloring that it will turn out mottled. Cute chick, good luck!

thanks everyone.... managed to get some chick crumb for her today.... and she's moved house from a small cat carrier to a big one

she's a noisy little thing.... doesn't stop chirping! doesn't seem at all phased by my cats, either... but then, I guess she's safe in her box

I agree. Chickens are very social animals that thrive on the company of others. I would look into getting her a friend around the same age, but no more or less than about 2 weeks apart from your chickie.

HI all... it's been a while!

Just thought I'd post an update

We still have the 'chick' I posted about... but she's a lot bigger now and a lot more speckledy!! She also has a couple of new room-mates

One is a Warren, the other is a Heinz variety

No plans for any more chickens, lol... 3 is enough
