While out at the library and looking through their books they had the prettiest chickens. They resembled the Belgian D'Uccle but, had no beard type thing. The only thing listed under them was "Belgian Booted Bantam".

And...are they available in the US? Will someone tell me more about them.

Ok found a photo

oh what a gorgeous chicken! I've got to find one too (or lots of them!)
Could it just be a BBD'uccle without the beard? or a cross of one with something else? Whatever. its such a handsome bird! I'm partial to the blue ones anyways.

It's a porcelan or self blue booted bantam.

The Booted bantams are a different breed that the d'Uccles and d'Anvers. The booteds lack a beard, whereas the other two do have a beard. You'll probably have more look doing an online search for breeders or post a wanted ad on here because you will not find them offered at a hatchery.

So does anyone here on BYC know of anyone who has them or breeds them?

He's a self blue booted bantam. The standard for them is similar to that of d'uccles, but the booteds are not bearded. They are rare in the US.
