We have 6 welsh harlequins that were born June 29th. Today we went to Home Depot and a lady overheard us say we had ducks. She says last night her family was walking by a creek and a little duckling came running up to them. They couldn’t find its family so they took it home but didn’t know what to do with it. The lady asked if we could take it so we agreed. We just got it home and it is the cutest little thing ever but it is so tiny!! So much tinier then the 6 we have. We are sitting on the floor and it can jump and climb over my dad. Is this really a duckling?? Is that just the difference between a wild and domesticated duckling?? I’ll add a photo. Can’t figure out how to add a video of it jumping.

Thank you everyone for your replies! We live right outside of Woodland CA. They found it on Cache creek. Someone mentioned Wood duck. We know nothing about those! Anyone have suggestions? Do we need to try and find a rescue place or can we try to raise it ourselves?

You will have to find a a place to take him. It is illegal to keep wild migratory birds like wood ducks
