help!! im a horrible mom..what do i do?!

I was taping my chicks feet for the third night in a row trying to fix her curled toes. Decided to put cardboard underneath this time I had it taped and went to trim it a bit because it was so big and I didn't realize her back toe(which wasn't taped at all) was hanging in the way and I clipped off part of her toe!!! Just past her nail. I'm trying to stop the bleeding. What do I do?? Please help my baby!

hold pressure. if you have styptic powder or pencil, that will help. (quick stop or similar. can usually find it in pet stores or even in the shaving section at WM or Kmart.)

Oh my. So is there still a little toe there? Do you have a cotton ball or something that you can hold over it to compress it a bit and stop the bleeding?

You can use some septic powder or even some flour to stop the bleeding....Then go to the store and get some liquid skin, and then when you get home, if you've stopped the bleeding, you could paint on a thick layer of the liquid skin, and that will help to protect it. Just make sure it dries.....

Ok the bleeding has stopped. I wrapped her foot in toilet paper as I was running around the house getting a bottle for the baby and posting this. So now what? I'm guessing something like neosporin and bandaid? What else do I do?

You're not a horrible mom...accidents just happen sometimes. Get the bleeding stopped, let it heal and your chick will be fine... You're chick forgives you; now forgive yourself...
