I've made all the scrambled, fried, pickled, poached and deviled eggs that I can, and I'm up to my eyeballs in egg salad! I've been putting eggs in EVERYTHING from casseroles and salads, to cakes and cookies! My egg customers only want the really BIG eggs, and I've hatched as many bantams as I have room for - yet, my little hens continue to lay thru sunny, rainy, snowy, icey and freezing cold weather! And I really hate to see these eggs go to waste, so I thought I'd see if someone out there might enjoy hatching some...
This little flock consists of mostly silkies and cochins (both roosters and hens of each breed) in mixed colors that include blue/black/splash, red/silver/blue partridge, blue/black mottled, lavender/black split to lavender, buff, silver laced, and what I believe could possibly be lemon blue, silver penciled and platinum. Plus there are a few oddballs in this pen: 2 mille fleur d'uccle hens, 1 bantam splash laced red wyandotte hen, 1 Polish/silkie mixed hen, and 1 barred frizzled "whatchamacallit" hen. There are also a couple first generation sizzles in there, too, but they are too young to breed just yet. I plan to separate these birds by breed in the spring, but for now, they're living together just so they can keep each other warm at night.
SO... You should be aware by now that these eggs could produce either purebred or mixed bantam sized chicks, in a rainbow of colors, patterns and feather textures. I make no claims to which egg came from which hen, or which rooster she's been breeding with. I only know that all but 2 birds in this pen are purebreds - and I got them all from private breeders, or I bred and/or hatched them myself. So, although I cannot tell you whether they are show quality or not (because I personally don't show), I CAN tell you that none of my birds in this pen are hatchery stock. You can see pictures of some of them at http://www.krsimages.com under "The Flock". I will be adding pictures to that site as weather and time permits.
According to the USPS website, postage runs $14.50 for a large flat rate box, and is listed separate from the auction price. I will ship 12 of these eggs to the lower 48 states only, and will include any extras I have at the time of shipping. Eggs are guaranteed to be fresh and fertile, and I will pack them so that they are snug and insulated, but I cannot guarantee their viability once they reach their destination, because of circumstances beyond my control after they leave my hands. I plan to ship on Monday, 2/8, but I reserve the right to ship on Tuesday or Wednesday, in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen events. Payment will be accepted via Paypal at [email protected].
I think that covers everything - if not, please feel free to PM me or post here with any questions!
Thanks for looking - and happy bidding!
ETA: See post #3 for an explanation of the pics used in this auction - I tried to change the one, but the "edit" mode wouldn't let me!
