Help! Incubating CALL DUCKS - need tips

Call duck eggs hatch in 26-27 days. If you have a good broody chicken hen, its best to let her set on the eggs. She will do better than any incubator. Last summer I gave one of my cochin bantam hens 6 call duck eggs... all 6 of them developed the entire term, 5 ended up hatching. She raised them as if they were her own.

I'm curious as how it is going for you. Have you candled them to see if there is developement. keep us posted.

Right now I'm incubating 12 of my silkie duck eggs in an rcom fully automatic incubator. I havemy temp at 99.9 & 52% humidity. I lightly mist 1 time a day, and I have 12 of 12 eggs developing very nicely. I'm expecting them at 26 days. So far things are going well

Hello! I too am hatching some ducklings! I have 30 eggs right now, there are 20 Call eggs and 10 Cayuga eggs. This is my first time doing Cayugas. I am a 2nd grade teacher and I do this project with my students every year. I usually do calls. Last year I did Pekins and none hatched, it was the first time that had happened and my students were so disappointed! I am hoping we have better luck this year. We candled our eggs today [Day 7] and could see substantial growth in all but 6. We had 4 clear eggs and 2 blood rings that we threw out. We are going to candle again on day 14.

My Calls never all hatched on the same day in the past. I'd have one on day 26, 2 on day 27, 3 on day 28, and 2 on day 29...but they were absolutely adorable and worth the wait and anticipation!!

I do have a question for anyone.....where can I get something to measure the humidity digital? I think that would be easier for my kids to check. Thank you!
