No, it's all good! I'm just saying they don't actually need all that space, but they do hatch out just fine in big incubators for me as well. Just saying she doesn't need to move them into something bigger is all. I know you were joking, but I want to make sure I don't insult someone unintentionally. ;)

yeah when mine hatch they roll around the whole incubator, are any moveing/ wobbeling the egg yet ? you can test it by talking to them

Wow, I would totally freak out if something like that happened to me! Looks like you're doing a pretty good job with what you have. My only concern is them getting some air. Is there a hole anywhere in your contraption for fresh air to get in? They do need air flow, especially during and after hatch of course. And they should be fine to hatch in there. Just remember, they would naturally be hatching in a crowded nest under a momma, so they don't actually need alot of space to hatch out normally. Rolling all around an incubator can even make it more difficult for them to get into (and stay in) proper hatching position.

Keep us updated! Good luck! :)

goose guy,
Last night before going to bed a couple of them were wobbling a bit in the incubator, so they probably are shifting around in there.

Orca,
I am trying not to freak out!!

As for air, the plastic wrap is pretty loosely draped; not sealed around the rim - do you think I should also poke a couple holes in the top or something? And maybe I'll just get a smaller folded cloth to put under them after today so they have a TAD more room and aren't held quite as snug as they are right now...

I think if the plastic wrap is on there loosely it might be ok. Don't want to lose too much of your humidity with too many holes. I'm no expert in home-made incubators, though! But what you have looks pretty good (and ingenious) to me! :) I really hope these guys hatch out for you! It's a great sign you have seen them moving.

Thank you, that is reassuring! Hoping to have good news to share soon :)
