HELP! Incubator quit day 26!

Definitely lots of sticky gunk!! He took his time getting all the way out, but he did it. I did help some earlier on though because his zipping still wasn't progressing; veins and membrane looked totally ready so i just chipped away some and moved the membrane out of the way. That's when I found his head/neck was twirled around funny, and his foot in front of his face, and I think that's why he wasn't getting anywhere. He's big too, so I can imagine he could hardly correct himself if he tried.

Woke up to check on them. Everyone's alright but "Twister" and the guy with the neck are generally weaker so I have kept them separated from the other two who are just already out to conquer the world. Thought that might be a good idea until the weaker two can really find their feet, what do you think? Twister is so tiny! No wonder he took stinking forever in that shell - probably weaker from the get go.
He may need some vitamins, he also lost a lot of blood, can he hold his head up at all? If so get a dropper and mix the Vitamin B in some water and give him a drop or two. If you have some poultry drench or Polyvisol with out iron that would be better but if not, Vitamin B will be a good start..

I started out with 9 on this hatch by the way, if anyone's curious to know. 2 infertile, 1 early quitter, 1 late quitter with a seriously messed up air cell (huge and tons of fluid inside), 1 late quitter (shrink wrapped before internal pip), 4 duckies

they aren't shipped are they? If I recall wasn't a momma sitting on them or something? Memory loss

Oh just saw this - yeah I have it here's a pic

WOW for the most part it's very clean inside. HUM, looks like theres Chunks of gooy right under the membrane though, i wonder if that was pushing on his neck this whole time? perhaps that's why he's crooked right now. Vitamin E should really help him..

LOL sometimes it makes you wonder HOW THE HECK did you get in that Position. And then when they fluff up, your like OK, how the heck did you fit in that shell. LOL

He can hold it up and can walk around a little now, too, but only for bits at a time. Heis notably stronger now though. But that neck is just always hangin' out to the left. I tried dipping his beak in a tad of vitamin B water and I think he got a couple sips. Sounds like I need to go get some vitamin E though!

OH good, try to use the dropper though, you don't want him to do it on his own or push his beak in the water yet he could accidently loose his balance and get to much down him..As long as you see him swallow, he's good..

does his head hang to the left or just the neck? it may take some time for him to gain some neck control. Lets see how he does tomorrow.. Does the neck look swelled at all?

SHIPPED, ahhh OK well that explains a lot, so four babies with Shipped Eggs WOW NOT bad. anything over half is excellent and anything less is good. So your right there inbetween the good and excellent...

K i'll use a dropper from now on. It's just his neck, and it looks like the root of it is at the base of his neck; that's where the crookedness starts. I don't believe it is swollen - not from what I can tell. He's holding it up well now so hopefully he really does just need to develop those muscles.
