Really? I didn't realize they were so large. I just loved the looks of them and said I want some! Lol

They will chew on whatever is in sight! That's actually a good sign if they are trying. Just make sure there aren't any loose strings. And they should be fine for a while without water. I had a little 1/4 cup measuring cup in mine for humidity and they started drinking it. Then I got scared they would drown in it. Luckily it was almost empty so they just finished it off.

Oh okay good. I just hope they're not near dehydration because of being overdue. Guess I'll just not worry about it for now. Thank you

Ok. And by the way, the zipper I helped out, his navel stringy stuff is still attached and he's tromping all over it - should i snip it so he doesn't hurt his naval or just leave it alone?

It's got to shrivel up, if it is then yes you can go ahead and snip it.

They are overdue, but they still have been in their little safe place until recently, so I think they will be fine for a bit more. Instinct will tell you when you need to do something. If you feel it necessary, by all means, they are yours, do what you feel to be right. Are they moving around good? Do you see any leg or feet issues? I'm so happy for you!

Another question, is it normal for their eyes not to open for a while? The one whose head i pulled out, i see bumps where his eyes are but they're not open - freaking me out a little, lol. He is still in the same position btw

it's Ok that his eyes are closed, he hasn't twisted free yet?? That's ok is he active.

Anyone know if I should try to give tem water from a dropper or something while they are still fluffing up? Maybe it's just that they're tired but they seem thirsty, one is trying to chew on a towel in there.

NOPE no water yet, when they fluff up they will need naicin which is Vitamin B3, they can survive for 3 days with the yolk that they have absorbed, of course we don't want them to go that long...

The first two out are doing just fine from what I can tell. The one that I helped out only a little that was kicking like crazy in the shell is super active. The third one out, which was the original assist is pretty lethargic, but hasn't been out even a whole hour yet and is probably just tired and generally a little more weak than the others? I put a little arrowroot powder (cornstarch subsitute) on that one's navel because it was bleeding a little.

Thank you I am happy too! So amazing to have watched these little animals come to be from nothing more than an egg! Say... Eggs must be pretty nutritious, huh?

That's because towels are fun to chew on. My Cayuga LOVES towels. She nibbles the edges and tries to pull it back and get under it.

They should be fine without water while they're fluffing. Lacrystol? You'd know much better than I.

Your DOING GREAT!!! great advice. They chew on things or nibble its because it's new and they are curious. That's a really good sign...
