I have a crested white female duck who seems to have an injured foot. She seems to be hopping around with her one foot off the ground. When she does have to put her foot down she falls down. I am not sure how to treat this injury. Should I just let it heal on its own, bring her inside for a few days away from the other ducks, or try to find a vet? This is my first duck injury and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you handled her? Is a trauma injury or bumble?

only way your going to know whats going on is to examine her. I wouldn't just let it go and hope for the best, there could be infection and that would not be good to ignore.

I have a few runners whose feet are sensitive to cold and when we are out for short jaunts at 15˚F, some of them start to favor one of their legs, to the point of occasionally falling over.

I inspect their legs and feet regularly, because it may or may not be the cold.

She needs to be gently held and looked at closely.
