Don't know what kind of duck or geese :/

No vet open or able to take it. Have it in my bathtub with some towels, water, and I downloaded a night time cricket / music and have it playing in my bathroom on repeat with lights out.

I will be calling again for help tomorrow but I am not leaving it with anyone that will euthanize it.

Looks like it has a broken or injured wing and foot.

Thoughts on how to help this poor fella?

P.S. It is extremely relaxed and comfortable in my bathtub. I checked!

Is there water in the tub if so it should not be in water without supervision can you take pics?

Here you go... taken with my iPad as my phone is playing music for it. I removed the water... only a damp / wet towel with it now in the tub. Still very calm.

Yes it has flapped it's wings, once. Walking... he tries but can't.

Did you find it some where? have you checked it over for any wounds or injuries? look under it's feathers real good for an open wound or blood. under good lighting. then offer it some fresh water and what do you have to feed it/ chicken feed would work or chop some lettuce and float in some water, I'd put it on clean dry towels though because if it's hurt it may chill on wet ones. When you had it in water could it use both legs and feet?

Yes I did, on the road. It was limping... I thought it was a skunk at first cuz it is black & white. As I reached it, it collapsed of fatigue and was in shock.

I checked him carefully and there was blood under one of his wings. I put pressure on it and washed it. This morning, no more bleeding.

I filled the tub to see if he could swim and he did with both feet.

Still drinking water but not as much as last night.

It is so beautiful! I have never seen one like that before.

He is sleeping a lot since yesterday. He is recovering.

That's great news that it's recovering and can use both legs and feet in water, I'm wondering if it got hit by a car? hopefully just grazed and no internal injuries. So nice of you to care enough to help it, Have you any feed for it? It's going to need to eat and some poultry vitamins in it's water would be good too. How's it's poop look no blood I hope. Can you get a pic of it's face for us? and is it tall like a goose or short like a duck, hard to tell with it laying down.

It's a male common eider. You must live in New England.

Sea ducks like eiders need special care and diets. A dry bathtub is no place for this bird- you need to get the bird to a wildlife rehabilitator ASAP. There are several excellent wildlife rehab facilties in New England, please tell me what state you're in and I can suggest a place to bring it.

If the bird has been struck by a car a wildlife care center can determine broken bones and even more importantly internal bleeding. They can administer pain medication, splint/pin bones, etc. that will greatly improve the birds chances.

I've been calling all day. We are leaving now for a wildlife rehab centre. I live in Dieppe New Brunswick (Canada). I have figured it is a sea duck

I filled the tub this morning to see if he could move his legs and he could, which I was relieved.

Will keep you posted.
