I’m sorry if this has been answered, but I just adopted 6 call ducklings today, and one isn’t doing well. The people I bought from said she got attacked by a dog but I’m not seeing any physical injuries. She won’t use one of her legs, the other works fine, she’s rasping, isn’t making ANY noise at all, and won’t hold up her head. I was thinking if it’s not from a dog it could be niacin deficiency? Any advice for her? She ate and drank fine and she’s not acting like she’s in any pain.

How old are they and what are you feeding them?
I'd say if it's just one leg it's probably not niacin deficiency.

A video of what's going on would be helpful.
You'll have to upload it to you tube or Vimeo first before you can share it here.

They were about a month and old, I was feeding duckling starter with brewers yeast. Unfortunately the poor baby passed away about an hour ago. I’m not sure what I could have done in such a short amount of time for them, but thank you for responding so fast

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. Probably nothing you could have done it may have had some internal injuries. 😔

I'm sorry for your loss😢 It almost sounds like she had Dysphagia due to a cervical spinal injury based off of your description of paralysis in the neck, legs and difficulty breathing. One good jerk in the mouth from a dog could of easily done the damage. You kept her comfortable and were there for her at the end which at that point is all you could have done.
