HELP! Is it inhumane to keep this chicken alive? Predator Attack (Warning: Graphic Photos)

Don’t recall ever seeing them in mine. Odd because I get needles and syringes there.
Each TSC is different I suppose. I went to mine today for feed, so I took some photos:D
In my store the syringes/needles are on a sliding hanging shelf(?), there are more products behind them, that's where the scalpels are.

If yours look like this, then slide that rack to one side or the other

Wow, your TSC is well stocked! Mine doesn't have anything like that! Thanks for the pictures! @KikisGirls, FYI.

I haven’t been in there in a while. I’ll have to look. I may have seen the castration kit and kept going. LOL

Hello everyone,

I opted to not cut into her head anymore as I tried a few very small incisions and it was blood, I was unable to squeeze out any puss. I have been letting her be outside in the grass and she shows significant improvement both physically and mentally which in my personal opinion is huge. It seems that the puss is trying to come out of every pore in her head, and kind of doing it successfully, just slowly.

See photos attached of the progress. Her feathers growing through seem to be loosening it up and facilitating the healing process/natural elimination of puss. The large wound care on the top of her head has been my focus, and I pulled a ton of dead matter out of there the other day.

I let my other hens in the yard with her and with the exception of a couple little tiffs (from my hen at the bottom of the pecking order), they accepted her back and she was integrating herself back into the flock wondering around. She also is very feisty and can hold her own, I just don't want to put her in that condition given her current vulnerable state.

I would like to start letting her back in the run with the other girls as I really feel it helps the healing but I'm a little hesitant. I will need to bring her back in and clean her every night to be sure it stays sanitary, but from what I can tell there's no longer any deep gashes.

First and foremost is she contagious in any way? Her well-being just seems to sky rocket when she's outside, and I truly feel that is accelerating her healing process.

Opinions/thoughts?
