Hi!
its day 24 for my chick egg I hear chirping but see no pecking I candle the egg to make sure the chick was alive It’s is definitely alive as I see the chick moving.
But it’s very hard to tell what position the chick is in dose this look normal for a chicken on day 24? I can get a better image if needed. Any reply is appreciated!

I think its malpositioned.

Oh I’ve never heard of that what dose that mean and how to I fix it?

Malpositioned means the chick is in the wrong position.

If a chick is malpositioned, it cannot hatch by itself, and you would have to carefully break the eggshell and remove it. (I do not know if your chick is in the right position or the wrong position. I just know what the word means.)

But if you assist too soon, the chick dies.
And if you assist too late, the chick also dies.

So the trick is to know what to do at what time.

There is a good article about it-- I see H-B-O just gave the link :thumbsup
It tells what is normal, when to assist, how to tell when, and what to do.
