I have 2 2 week old ducks ( 3 weeks on sunday) 1 (the smaller one waffles) drools out of its mouth when we pick it up. At first i thought it was just stress ( alot of animals drool when its stressed). But i dont know?!?! is it okay?

Especially after eating or drinking they will do this, and I have even picked up my adult ducks and this has happened I think pressing on the crop where the food and water goes first causes this. If your your not noticing anything else different ,still running around eating and drinking and pooping fine then most likely it's normal.

Okay good it only happens after they eat & drink (they eat & drink every hour for 10 min. that keeps the bedding cleaner the perfect plan)

Do you stay up during the night to feed them this way? Actually, thinking about it, this may be causing them to drool.

If they don't have food and water 24/7, they can get a little panicky when they do eat and drink, and overdo it. Then they would be more prone to slosh.

Take a look at tweetysvoice and 70%cocoa's setups, and some other duckling waterers. Really. You can give them what they need and keep the bedding from getting completely yucked up.

X 2

ducklings need food and water 24/7 for the first 2 weeks, minimum. Ease in cleaning shouldn't be a factor in what is best for them.

A really good way to keep the brooder clean is to put their food and water in one half of the brooder on top of a puppy training pad, and the bedding and soft area in the other half. That way when they mess with their water you can just change the pad out. Very quick and efficient.
