SERIOUSLY! How many times have I posted about some weird thing about my sweeheart Repecca/Roopecca! She wouldn' walk the ramp, wouldn't roost, had to be bathed and dried and reacclimated to sub 0 temps before turning into a poopcicle, had to physically put her in the henhouse every night, wobbled, tripped over her own feet, pigeon toed, pendulous crop, sour crop, and now she crows and is at the top of the pecking order!Of course it would be Repecca! Wow. So many different things going on with this chicken. I don't have any clue, but wondering if she is off hormonally and that is why it is confusing? Or maybe an infection? Could that cause the crop issue as well?
Interesting. I guess more time will tell.
With that being said, there is a member here who has lavender orps and roosters and she has said that they are sweet and laid back.
Either way, Roopecca is an interesting bird!
Me too! I guess I have to accept that I may never know. She always has been my problem child. >sigh<I want to know!!!

She's also unafraid of people, doesn't mind being picked up, puts up with me bathing her, giving pills, applying bras, runs to me when she sees me, and has wormed her way into my heart.
Thank you for noticing my concerns about her. You were one of the first to respond to me when I first came aboard and one I started recognising early on.![]()
If s/he doesn't develop pointed saddle feathers by the age of 8 months you'll know s/he's a hen.Me too! I guess I have to accept that I may never know. She always has been my problem child. >sigh<
But if she ever lays an egg you can bet I'll be posting immidiatly!
I read about a hen that became a rooster. At the time I thought it was interesting. Now I'll have to go back and find it to read again.Or could be a hen whose ovary doesn't work so she gets only male hormone and is changing which could explain the feathers happened to me, but they will act just like a rooster they just can't procreate either way
