Goose in the snake room
Chirping
Forgive me for the scattered timeline, my brain is not thinking straight at the moment.
My goose is 2 months old and 4 days ago starting showing symptoms.
On the first day she isolated herself and was breathing through her mouth in the heat. I immediately brought her inside for monitoring.
On the second day I noticed her whole body was shaking. Her pulse was very strong and I could feel it from just touching her back or stomach.
Not long after I noticed her feet and beak were always cold, her balance was poor, and she was closing her eyes frequently. She would just stand for long periods of time because it was easier for her to breathe.
Her stool was liquid and green with small bits of feces.
My other goose has symptoms of a respiratory infection but no issues eating, and no abnormal bowel movements.
I figured she had some kind of digestive obstruction on top of a respiratory infection.
She lost her appetite on day 3 but still drinks water.
I was hopeful the tylan was working but it seems it isn’t. Today I noticed foam on the sides of her beak and drooling
On day 2 I began treating with tylan, and it has now been 3 days since starting and no improvement. I’m starting to suspect aspergillosis. I’ve read there’s not much treatment options for this and I have no idea what to do.
Her bowel movements now are sometimes just clear liquid, and when it’s not, it’s just green liquid.
When I suspected a blockage, I tried coconut oil, I tried Dulcolax (stool softener, not laxative). I gave Nutridrench, offered more grit. I pulled every trick in the book I knew and still nothing.
I’m asking for help and I’m not even sure what advice I could receive.
How can I treat aspergillosis?
Could this be hardware disease?
Could I treat for both of these conditions?
Could this be a blockage? Her crop is empty, abdomen isn’t too soft, no discomfort when I feel her.
Her current condition is not well. She has a lot of saliva she’s been flicking off, she’s depressed and not reacting when I sit with her. She still has strength to stand, hasn’t lost too much weight but this isn’t giving me enough hope that I could do any kind of treatment in time. This all happened so quickly and I really thought I was doing everything I could. I’m so heartbroken
