I noticed one of my chicks laying down in the brooder unusual behavior for her. I tried giving water- she won’t drink or eat. What do I do? I can’t tell about her droppings. She is so sleepy this is so unsusual for her. I wish I had someone to call to help me with these chicks. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I am currently feeding scratch & peck organic starter. I just switched to it from new country organic brand after running out.

Do you have photos of your chick and brooder?

What's the temp in the brooder (cold side and hot side)?

I agree, I would continue with the Corid treatment, it won't hurt her.
Is her crop emptying overnight?

The crop is on the right side of the breast, it's like a food pouch. When your chick has been eating and drinking, you should be able to run your hand lightly down the right front side and feel a lump. As she digests food, the lump will get smaller and of course when she eats/drinks it will get bigger.
IF her crop is not emptying overnight (after a full night's sleep with no eating/drinking once she's gone to 'bed'), then that can cause some lethargy.
Let us know what you find out.

I’m not sure what it was, but she is back up eating and drinking! I can’t even tell her apart from her sisters anymore. She jumped out of her isolated box and is back with her crew. I gave her sugar water mixed with egg yolk & then started corid medicine the next day. Also LOTS of snuggles! I’ll keep you all updated! But I think they are ok! Going to continue wi to corid in water for 5 days and then I heard it’s good to supplement with B vitamin post corid?
