HELP. Lethargic baby chick with crackle noises. URGENT.

She’s between like 1.5-2 weeks. I’m assuming I would need to order antibiotics?
Do you have some Tylosin or Amoxicillin or Enrofloxacin on hand?

If not you could use this online shop
https://jedds.com/collections/poultry-treatments-respiratory

And until delivery you can brew some tea with thyme, oregano and fennel as natural antibiotics.
Give lukewarm instead of water, prepare fresh daily. All the other chicks can drink it as well.

Wouldn't hurt.

When you found her, was she wet, cold, shivering? Standing huddled, hunched up, running around? Cheeping loudly?
She was running from us haha not cheeping until I picked her up. She didn’t seem cold or shivering to me. Her feet were muddy but her body wasn’t wet.

She just pooped and it looked like this. I’m assuming I need to get Corid ASAP?

You can use the Augmentin/Clavamox in chickens. Dosage for adult chickens is 125-250 mg twice a day. I would only give the chick 50 mg once a day into its beak. Get it warm and dry. Try to get the chick drinking some fluids and eating. Mushy wet chick feed would be good. The blood in the dropping might be from the stress of escaping and getting cold, but Corid in the water is safe if you want to start that. Corid liquid dosage is 1/2 tsp per quart waterer, or 2 tsp per gallon.

Thank you so much 😭 she is dry and warm! I did get her to drink some sugar water (quite a bit!). I will make her some mushy food and get her on antibiotics right away. You guys are seriously the best and I am so grateful for this community 😭❤️

Warm a fluffy hand towel in the dryer and wrap the chick in it to treat for chilling. Next treat for shock and chilling. One cup water with a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of salt and baking soda. Dip the beak and encourage to drink as much as possible.

Do these things regardless how much time has passed since finding the chick.
