HELP! Lethargic chicken, possible egg binding!

Olive oil as some lubricant in her vent may help and will allow you to determine if she has an egg stuck. I did this with my pullet when she was having trouble passing an egg. She pooped both times I did it, but the second time she laid the egg about 3 hours afterwards. (I had also given her a warm water soak). I did not feel an egg either time. You only need to insert your finger to the first knuckle or so, once you feel resistance, don't push any farther.

Kinda like the submissive squat (which she has been doing for about a week or so) I'm not sure if she has laid before yet or not. Her poop is green and watery, she just had a bit of water come out of her mouth when she went to eat but she had been drinking a lot and I read that it's not abnormal for that to happen. I got baking soda so I have everything for the chicken chicks homemade electrolytes except the salt substitute. I gave her a scrambled egg with a bit if her feed and a little egg shell on the side, everything I've seen on eggbinding says to give calcium and she went for it right away. I'm still not sure if an egg is the issue or not but she is not separated from the flock and isn't thrilled about it.

Okay the squat she does when I touch between her legs isn't really like the submissive squat, I just gently touched there again and she stretches her neck out, puts her wings to the sides and her bum down, she also had clear water looking stuff coming out of her vent when I did it? Help!

I will try that! I kinda did that yesterday after I soaked her (I used coconut oil though) but I stopped when she pooped a little.

So now I'm wondering if it could be bacterial enteritis because of the watery green poop. She also has a lot of liquid coming out with her poop that isn't clear it's kinda milky. Does anyone know of treatment other than antibiotics that would help her? Probiotics?

So just do what I'm doing and hope for the best at this point I guess. Her poops are alternating between green runny poo with milky liquid and almost pure water so I don't know how to help her, I haven't soaked her yet since I'm now leaning more towards infection maybe I will just give in and get some antibiotics tomorrow, I've really been trying to do everything organic. Do you think I should still soak her and feel for an egg?

wouldn't hurt. And if your using Epsom salt, it will help with inflammation (skin and body) and infection (just the skin)

Can you get a stool sample under a vet's microscope?
Do you have poultry nutri-drench, that bypasses digestion and is immediately absorbed into the bloodstream (so I've read) and you can feed her hard boiled egg yolks.

High Humidity might help her lay... put her in a closed bathroom and run a hot shower. You could also put her in a wire bottom cage and put steamy water beneath her. Make her as comfortable and as calm as possible. It is vital she doesn't panic and wear herself out. Good luck with your hen. I hope she will be able to pass the egg.
