We are incubating 6 duck eggs ( Pekin) today is Day 29 and 1 hatched last night. It is in the brooder and eating and drinking but chirping non stop because it’s alone! The other eggs have pipped but not hatched I feel so badly for it but the only thing that calms it is is holding it and carrying it around or sitting beside the brooder singing to it! We have put a stuffed animal in there but it hasn’t seemed to help. Any suggestions????

Another has hatched but not yet ready to be moved to the brooder because it just hatched. Thank you for the advice! It’s cheeping away right nowI was holding it for awhile but can’t all night

Another question... while in the incubator the duckling was pecking away at one of the eggs and made a small hole on the wrong end! I can post a picture but it does t look good. It looks like I can see a pool of blood under the shell around the hole???

There are two in the brooder that I think are ready to come out but I’m afraid to open it because the egg that was popped in the wrong end is still trying to hatch ! The ducklings keep pecking at the hole when they hear it , stepping on it and causing chaos in there! What should I do? I can see part of the unhatched ducklings feathers and possibly a beak? But it’s been trying to get out since this morning.
