She was in a box with chips and heat lamp inside our house. We did have one chick with her they hatched together. We were feeding chick starter food I will get turkey or game bird. Our adults eat a poultry pellets with fruits and veggies. Do we need to change adult food?
Thanks for everyone's advice

What happened to the other chick? Is it still alive?

@DylansMom wrote a good point about yolk sac infection, did the dead chick has a dried yolk sac under his body after he hatched?

I only had one peachick the other was an Americana chick. They hatched together. I don't remember anything stuck to the bottom of her after hatch.

Sometimes the infection is completely internal and you don't see anything on the outside. It is from a bacteria entering a not quite closed navel right at hatch, after a few days to a week the infection from the bacteria can kill them.

If the next eggs hatched, give them another feed with a high protein level like 26 or 28% for the first two weeks, and see how the things are going to be.

And get yourself a scale, then weigh every few days. At first they will lose weight while they digest their yolks, but at 3-5 days they should start to gain. By 7-10 days of age they should be in the 90-110 gram range, I think.

don't give up if you really want them stay here and learn from us and try again, the biggest mistake pea chick owners make is thinking they are like raising chicken chicks heck i have read folks post that on their sale adds and that is the furthest thing from the truth, they are nothing like chicken chicks at all and i just want to

someone when they say this or post it in their sale add.
