Help! Loud females

We have an Aussie/Border Collie that we call the Avon Doggie...He rings the door bell every morning for his Milk Bones....lol....

They start mating with each other by 5-6 months old. Even daddy/daughter and brother/sister, so i wonder if the 2 males are competing for the females, and making them complain loudly.

Try observing from a distance right before the time that they normally start getting loud. I would wager its hormone related. ;)

Pekins are also known to be VERY loud just ask mine :rolleyes: I would get rid of one of the drakes Asap.. For can be VERY unhealthy to have two drakes for just two hens. They can easily get over-mated which will cause many leg problems. Normally i like to keep 3-4 hens for one drake. And if i have two drakes i'd have at least 10 hens for them to choose from to mating isnt a problem. Yes drakes can get very rough during spring since that Is their 'season' but domesticated ducks will mate year-round' so again.. I'd get rid of a drake ASAP
 
My runner hens get loud from time to time as well. Usually it's in the morning when I let them from their coop or when I show up if they stay outside for the night. They quack just as they do when they demand their feed. They sometimes quack just for fun if they see me coming towards them - they may think I'll chase them somewhere.. They loudly quack and protest if I 'shooo' them away from something. They quack at each other from time to time and especially at drake if he gets too close.

Oh, and the loudest is the hysterical jumping-wing flapping screaming when only one duck gets chased or when she lags behind others when they move. o_O
 
Mine are loud about 8am and then occasionally thru the day. I've been saying "sssshhhhhh" and so far it's working. Mine are 12 weeks old and there is one in particular that likes to quack at the top of her lungs. I butchered 6 and if she keeps it up, she will be number 7.:fl
 
I have three ducks that are 13 weeks old and they are so loud! My husband heard one of the neighbors quack back at them one day. Hopefully it isn't too annoying for them, I would so hate to have to re-home them now after finally starting my duck journey! I have wondered if getting a drake to round out the trio would settle them down, but now I wonder if that will just make things louder. Any thoughts?
