Help! Mallard duckling w hurt leg

What a lovely respond from Heather.
I wish for some kind of result on my duckling situation. I'm so hopeless, watching my 40 day old, wild Mallard duckling, sliding on his stomach and one leg, which is broken. I can't catch him, fear for the worse. Thank you for understandings.
My family and some friends think that I'm old, crazy lady ,trying to help a wild duckling.
I'm so sorry. How long has this duckling been like this? That is concerning but if it's still alive, that duckling has a wonderful mama. Birds are amazing creatures that can overcome some unimaginable hurdles. Hopefully your duckling will prove to be one of these special cases. Do you have a waterfowl rescue center that you can call about this? How many hatchmates does this duckling have?

Welcome to BYC! Can you post a pic of it?

Thank you for responding. He is still around with him mom and 7 siblings. I could never imagine that it would affect my heart so deeply. Wildlife rescue org. will accept him, ( WILDLIFE RESCUE FAIRFIELD, CA.) but to catch him and remove him from his mom that will be sad. The chances are that he will die, but surrounded by his family ,at least....

The duckling is about 40 days old, got injured 3 days ago ,by other duck who was stomping on him.
( Not his sibling duckling). Living on the pond is a real pleasure, but also very challenging for all the avian creatures we have here. Fighting and mating dramas are frequent and heartbreaking....

Oh my, that is so sad. I noticed 10, yes TEN, Mallard Drakes hanging around my pond yesterday. They all hang around and eat the feed I toss for the goslings, waiting on the 2 wild Mallard Duck hens to appear. It's so frustrating. I want to help the girls but being they are wild animals, they don't understand my intentions. I noticed one of the drakes trying to get at 2 of the goslings 😢 The drake to hen ratio seems so far off
