Help me convince DH to keep a roo

Ah ok. Ive just never seen it so I thought I'd mention it.

I saw a small hen(CLB) go after 2 cockerels feet up and flying when they thought she was fair game for their amore. She kicked their butts!

A rooster or hen that attempt to do battle with a fox or coyote, are fighting a loosing battle.
Some folks have an unrealistic perception of what a rooster can accomplish as flock protector. I have lost way to many chickens including roosters, to have any expectations what so ever that my rooster will win any battles with 4 legged preditors.
My expectation is that he keep a sharp lookout, and warn the flock when danger is sighted. That is all. I have had a rooster attack a hawk that had one of his hens in tallons.
All overly brave roosters are usually dead roosters .
