Dont get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with Safeguard and it's effective and the 125ml bottle is cheaper than 500ml bottle of Valbazen. I dont recommended using Safeguard when birds are in molt. Additionally you have to use more of it for a longer period of time (5 days) to eliminate capillary worms. Capillary worms are very common and can be deadly to chickens by their sheer numbers.why doesnt everyone use it then? like, how did I end up thinking safeguard was the way to go
You only need to dose twice with Valbazen and use less. It will also treat tapeworms and flukes. But for tapeworms it requires withholding feed for 24 hours, increased dosages over several days, a 24 hour break, then repeated again for several more days. It's easier and better to use Equimax equine paste to treat tapeworms with only 2 dosings.
