Ok so 2 weeks ago we adopted 4 birds. They are between 4-9 months of age. All are brown egg layers.
    1. a red sex link/gold comet
    2. a dominique hen
    3. a young black sex link pullet ( no red on comb and wattles so not mature yet)
    4. a delaware maybe pure maybe mix, we still are not sure of sex.

2 of these birds are laying eggs. One started laying the day after we brought it home, a nice fairly dark brown egg.
Today we got our first day of 2 eggs, but the newer egg is very light brown.

any thoughts on who was laying what?

I am guessing the dom and the sex link, but dont know about delawares.

I have two Delaware hens, and they lay what I consider a mid to slightly darker brown egg. Sort of a "cinnamon" colored egg. My buff orpingtons and barred rocks lay a lighter brown egg than the Delaware, while my production reds lay chocolate brown eggs that are most definitely darker than the Delaware eggs.

I don't have any of the other breeds, so I can't help you there.
