Help me determine what gender the chicks are, please!!

They are 2 1/2 weeks old. I know that's early, but I"m impatient!!!

There is one for SURE that is a roo.. I'm just certain of it. But tell me what you all think!!


These are supposed to both be RIR but look at the legs on the left... can a RIR cross with an EE??

None of those are RIRs, they would be red if they were, they are probably light brown leghorn, speckled sussex or Welsummer. The first of the leghorns, on the right is the male and on the left is the girl, your SLW is a boy and the others are too young to tell.

Any breed of chickens can breed together so yes you can get a RIR/EE mix. In your first picture it does look like the chick on the left is an EE. It probably is just an EE with those cheecks and legs. As for gender it is still way to early. Maybe by 8 weeks you might beable to tell if any are roos.
