I may be late to respond here, but I’ve found it’s easier to introduce in neutral territory. She may have felt that her territory had been intruded on and was trying to defend herself and it. Doing introductions outside in places that are part of neutral territory is much easier, at least for me and my dogs it has been. It gives the dogs a chance to meet each other without feeling like they need to defend their territory from an intruder.

@janiedoe Where did you buy this new dummy from?
I am curious why someone wanted to sell an 4 yr old dummy.

I love hims cute face.
His family had moved into a home without a fenced yard. He needs a pet door accessible at ALL times. Lol.
That said, I'm not sure how much attention he got from the family. He isn't well trained and is just starting to respond to his name. I'm guessing they didn't call him often. 😒
He has an impressive looking lintage, but we are having him altered for safety..and because I have plenty of grandchildren already.😁

I definitely agree.
We were limited in where we could introduce because of my husband's disability and the fact that the dog had to be picked up immediately.
Next time (God forbid there is a next time) we will schedule intros at a park , when one of our children is available to help.

I feel like I may have spoiled her a bit.
We used to never let our dogs on the furniture. At least she had a bath Friday. (Excuse the mess please, I was in a hurry this morning.)
@BigBlueHen53 I read the article. I've always called it bloat. It is one of those complications that make me fearful of owning large breed dogs. I've helped with a horse had bloat and it is very scary.

Scary indeed. My brother lost his well-loved, aging Rott X several years ago to it. 😔 They were playing vigorously with him right after eating, and his stomach flipped. These big breeds are kinda prone to it. I hope you enjoy many happy years with your new addition, he is a cutie! ❤
