Hi, I am on the 20th day of my first hatch in an incubator. (I've had chicks hatch out from under mommy hen before). I have a mix of 12 eggs in the incubator. I had one Maran chick hatch out last night on day 19 (it's been 12 hours). He was really lively when he hatched but this morning he's still wet and looking very sluggish. Another hatched in the night and one more a couple minutes ago. All still wet. I really don't want to open the incubator and mess with the other eggs hatching. But I REALLY don't want to lose him. Is it too humid? Do I intervene...?? :''(

Hi, he's doing ok now. I finally took out the three that hatched who were more or less dryish and put them in my brooder. They dried out really fast and eat and drank and seem to be doing really well! So relieved. They love the warm heating plate I bought, seems to be much more effective than those heat lamps. Three more are coming out of their eggs now...quite an early hatch. I am hopping all 12 will hatch out by tomorrow. (day 21)
