Oh, thank you! I hope you're rightOnly #1 and #6 look to be boys so far. Agree that the Marans is a little suspect. All others look to be female at this age anyway.![]()

Yeah, there isn't much question about #1All i think is that #1 is definitely a cockerel... the comb is very red, not sure about the others
You're making my night! I sure hope you're right. Nothing against roostersThinking all pullets so far except #1.
I agree. I am absolutely not seeing the cockerels everyone else is and also many of your breeds have sex-specific coloringThinking all pullets so far except #1.
Agreed. I'm not seeing enough comb development for the others to cause concern yet. Plus some of the patterns..Thinking all pullets so far except #1.
Hackles do not tell gender at this age. Hens can have pointy hackles and males sometimes don’t develop very pointed hackles. At this age you look at comb size and color of the males and females if they have sex linked color to tell gender. My instincts are in order:
Cockerel, cockerel, pullet, pullet, pullet, pullet, cockerel, cockerel.
I usually have more luck with hackle feathers than combs or tails. My mom can tell from the legs in person![]()
I agree, they are young though so it’ll be better to see them once they are a couple weeks older.Thinking all pullets so far except #1.
