Help me guess which breed laid these

Hello backyard chicken keepers! I've finally got some layers in my flock and I'm so excited, got my first egg (the lighter one) on Friday and the second egg (darker one) today. I'm trying to figure out who laid which eggs. I'm guessing that the lighter egg (43g) was laid by my BR and the darker egg (29g) was laid by my RIR. The other options are a Blue Wyandotte, GL Wyandotte, or a Speckled Sussex. All have dark red combs and wattles. I haven't done a butt check but wanted to try this route first as some of them are skittish and I can't handle them easily.

That was my guess as well. Any guess on the darker one? Would my RIR be the suspect?

I think your darker is your barred rock and lighter is your speckled Sussex. Here are mine for comparison.
My BR lays the darker eggs and SD lays the lighter (the little on on top is from a D'anver Bantam)

Hmm that is a possibility as well. My SS has a bigger comb than my RIR. My SS is the skittish one so I haven't done a butt check but I've seen her in the coop messing around more than the other pullets.

Maybe the BR eggs I had from my hens were lighter in color because of all the sunshine they had in California!

Well then, I have no other reasoning behind the tint of my birds eggs, other than they were very tasty! And
Rocks-Anne was my favorite hen. Way too tame to be a chicken!

I'm also in CA! Guess I'll be doing butt checks to confirm!
