Help me hatch (and raise) some pheasants! UPDATED with PICS!!

Oh boy, here we go again! I checked the eggs a little while ago, and have at least 1 pip

Here's hoping I can get them through the first few days (if they hatch)

Baby pics!! Looks like 2 white, 1 buff or buff pied, and 2 normal.

Awww! Too cute Shelley.

I candled mine and one had not developed but all the rest are still showing veining.

So of the original 14, we have 13 left

I also put the other 4 that she laid in there and they are all veining now too.

And there are 2 more in the nest.

She is an egg laying machine I tell ya! lol

So we are on day 12 with fingers crossed!

Bringing this back up cause my first pheasants are due the 6th.

This has been another bad year for shipped pheasant eggs. So far I've hatched 2 chicks from 21 eggs and one of those has died.

I have several more in there, some bought locally and some from swaps here on BYC, so hopefully I'll get a few to start well. I ended up selling the ones I hatched last year--like an idiot--so I get to start over again

I had them laying down and then changed my mind and stuck them in cartons.

I tried hatching them in cartons and laying them on their sides (2 hatches so far this year). I got 1 chick from each set so I don't think it matters. I have more trouble with my guineas when they are upright so I think I'll just keep laying them down.

Mine are due the 6th. I keep going in and just looking at them. I also had to add chicken eggs that are due the 7th. I ran out of hatchers. oops.

I sure hope I can get some to hatch. Would be cool to have a pair.
