Help Me Help my rooster

This is Big Red. When he was little I noticed he would sit down a lot and would never roost. He is very tame. He got a small bump were his ear is and I put antibiotic ointment on it and it went away. He still never would roost. It came back and now it is very large. Like the size of a jaw breaker. It is very hard. I tried to clean it out with tweezer and proxide and then put in antibiotic ointment in it. I did not get very much out of the ear. He was very patient with me doing it to. But would try and shake his head. Please someone tell me what I should do for him. And does anyone know what it is? I feel so bad for him and hope he is not suffering. Please help!!!

Welcome to BYC. Your photo is not showing up for me, I think you may need to get more agressive with getting the gunk out of his ear abscess. There is probably solid pus in there that may take more work to get out. It can be done in a couple of sessions. Or take him to a vet, and you could then treat with some amoxicillin or another antibiotic. Here are some articles to read:
