Help me I have a 4 week old chick with a saw eye :(

See if you can pick up some sterile 0.9% sodium chloride 10 ml flush syringes from a medical supply store, and use them to gently irrigate and remove any debris out of the eye of the chicken...there doesn't look to me to be any discharge from the eye, so it doesn't appear infected, but it does appear to be irritated and inflamed, perhaps from the others pecking her. You may want to isolate her if possible until she heals. Please do not use eye drops meant for a human on a chicken; you may do more damage than good. The anatomy of an avian eye is different from that of a mammal...and even between some mammals certain meds can't transfer over...for example, dogs cannot take enteric coated tablets like we can; they don't dissolve in their stomach. As a nurse, I can help with wound care and other advice, but it's always best to ask a vet when it comes to medications...

Ive just had a check on her before about to go get some saline and she looks like shes getting better? Ive put another pic on my profile
maybe it was just bits in her eye from them kicking up the group as they where doing that a lot yesterday to get some food that fell out the bowl.

It does look much less irritated...she likely has gotten out whatever was in her eye that was causing the inflammation. That is also probably why she was trying to get at the eye herself. You might still want to anticipate doing a gentle irrigation of the eye though, but for now I'd just keep monitoring her progresson. Glad she's doing better.

I'd go ahead and rinse the eye anyway, the saline won't have any negative effect on her.

yes I went out and got some anyway shes still itching her eye now
she wasnt to happy about me putting it on her eye lol
hopefully she will look a lot better by tomorrow

Her eye has settled now she still itches it now and then but is much better thanks everyone for your help
