This chicken is not dead

Do you see Shirley's leg on the far bottom right of the picture? She's not dead, and Anne isn't actually crushing her! 😂 Yesterday's dust bath must've been a particularly pleasant one.

The ones here are much darker too but not very skittish. I used to have one that would come in through the kitchen window and hop around checking what other food was available before stealing cat biscuits - it soon got used to me enough that it'd stay in the room while I was there and even eat crumbs from my plate if I let it.

Starlings are not native to North America, and they have a huge impact on some of our more timid native birds.

Farmers have problems with them in the Autumn eating corn from the fields - they can ruin a crop!

It makes me feel so guilty enjoying watching them bc I know they are invasive! But they are pretty neat and their social interactions are funny. They are very inquisitive birds.
