They're from Meyer (obviously - lol). I try to take photos as they grow and I like to keep track of what I purchased from where. ;)

Are these Brahmas?

I think these are Buff Brahmas?

This one is extra feathered!

They either came from Leann's Adopt Me Bargain or the Assorted Rare Females.

Thanks for your help!!! Of course it's no big problem to wait and watch them feather out, but it sure is fun to guess and read up on all of the different chicken breeds.

Are any bantams?

The extra feathered one is probably a Cochin.

I want to say there are some Marans--looks like blue, splash and black copper.

I think you're correct, the top look like Buff Brahmas, the bottom photo could be a Light Brahma. I'm not sure about the second photo, the ones you think are Buff Brahmas--they could be.

We did get Marans, but not in the group photographed here. Yes, this crazy woman took photos of 124 chicks today.

These guys here in this group are all feather feeted. I don't know about bantams. There are a few who are small, but I've not had a bantam before so not exactly sure what to expect there...

Why do you say there aren't Marans in the group photographed here? Meyer doesn't exactly have a wide selection of breeds, especially feather shanked. Basically your options for feather shanked large fowl breeds are: Marans (several colors), Favorolle (five toes), Cochin (usually heavily feathered), Sultan (crest), Brahma (pea comb). Bantam options are even fewer: Brahma, D'uccle, Silkie and Cochin.

You are completely right!!! I feel like a complete newb. I looked at all the Maran photos and everything and I swear, it didn't register with me that they're feather shanked! I feel like such an idiot. I'm going to blame that one on having had five children. Yikes! So sorry!!!

And I'm sure you're spot on. I ordered 10 Female Marans - supposed to be exactly what you said! I'll be those are what I'm looking at. Bonus points for you, Popsicle!

Ha, that's ok!

Could the top set be Mille Fleurs? It's so hard to tell when they're babies... I don't know why I drive myself batty wondering.
