Help me identify the color pattern of my cockerel (pictures included).

I don't know much about dominant/recessive barring, but my first thought when I looked at the pics was that the chicks had to have orpington in them because their leg color is whitish pink, not yellow like most of the other breeds you listed.

I have a mixed breed rooster that was barred like a dominique as a chick - then he molted into adult plumage and has a combination of what I would call partridge/ and crele or barred coloring. He didn't show the orange colors at the neck until he started getting the adult feathers.

Your rooster is so handsome. I love his coloring. Is yours mixed with wyandotte of some kind?

I have 21 of those chicks hatched and some has whitish pink legs and a few has yellow legs. I only had one white orpington roo at the time and he mated with a white orpington hen and I got 2 white orpington cockerels out of that. The same white orpington roo also produced a white colored turken (no doubt he is the dad to that one).

Okay. So I also have some white orpington chicks from this same roo. Does that mean that when the white orp chicks would have the barring gene also?

Quite likely. If your rooster passed on ALL barred looking chicks the first time, then yes. If only a group of them were barred, then you'll always get that 50/50. Since he was originally supposed to be white, he may or may not have only one barred gene, making him pass it on to 50% of the chicks. Otherwise, he'll pass it on to all of them.

There is no "recessive barring."
