Wow everyone thanks for all the help! I found a feed store nearby me that sells baby chicks and my parents are going to take me after school on friday, what are the best chickens to start with? I want something friendly.

Hi Garrett,

There is a place in Corona called Chickens Galore that sells all aged chickens. I bought six of them there and they're all going strong (knock on wood) almost a year later. It is off the 15 and Sixth Street (just north of the 91). On a weekend, it would probably take about 45 minutes from Huntington. I'm from Orange County, now live in the High Desert, so I know exactly where you are.

You can call ahead of time to see what he has available. The owner's name is Russell and his number is 951-255-9553. He has quite a few different breeds.

Congrats on convincing your parents too! You will enjoy having chickens. :)
