I'm going to try to spend as much time in my hole in the wall as I can, hopefully the mommies will sleep well. Wish me luck!!!

*Oh how I wish I was back in ER!*

Good Luck!! Feed them well. I wouldn't let my baby go when first born. Maybe some of the mommies will come get them for the night..

try to have fun. I'm at work tonight too but I'm in the lab and it being the 4th, lots of ER patients=lots of ETOH testing. lol at least someone is having fun.

babies! I dearly love them, I am just scared to death of them! I am afraid I will break them or something. I mean, this is why I do not have children of my own! I do not want kids of my own!!! I've *seen* what happens when a baby is born, and I like my body just the way it is

If any of you are parents of teenage girls- show them a video of a vag delivery- it is the best birth control ever.

But as for tonight, I am going to feed them, burp them, and love them. And then, after that, I am going to go home and have some ETOH of my own

My mom was a nurse in the neo-natal care ward before I was born (I'm now 46). She said she never lost a baby on her watch. It wasn't easy - she had nightmares etc.
Good Luck... You'll be OK!

I hear you. Anything but the nursery, please. I didn't have a phobia, but also didn't love them, to say the least. I was able to do what needed to be done -- but don't tell the babies that. We were supposed to feed on a schedule. Not this kid, they got fed when they were hungry. Fortunately, the last shift and next shift usually had the same attitude. When I had my one and only, I raised heck at staff til they brought him into the room with me, which only took a few hours. Might have had something to do with the fact that I also worked there. They didn't want me to nurse for the first 24 hours, either. Yeah, right.

I don't get people who don't want the baby with them from birth on, or at least from a few hours after birth on. I don't want the kid bonding with the night shift nurse.

ETOH ??

EtOH, used in medical terms, is abbreviation for ethanol (alcohol)
