I've heard some mixed things about the Leghorn's temperament (flighty, aggressive roos)....but I'd just eat them if it became an issue. LOL

The roos are a little flighty but if you want leghorns the buff variety isnt very flighty from what I understand but I dont think they have alot of RC. Also if you get bantams (meat wouldnt be too much LOL) they are not as flighty and mine got broody last year in oct.

I couldn't free range bantams around here--way too many predators and BIG barn cats for that, LOL

LOVE my Wyandottes!!!

i could hook you up with some brahma eggs in the spring. got buff columbian braham roo. and looks like i got a light roo . got a light hen and a few buff hens. so far when i crossed my buff roo and the light hen the chicks turned out light, and the buff hen and buff roo = buff. they forage really well.

For me it would be a toss-up between Buckeyes and Wyandottes, mostly dependent on which I could find better stock in. The Foleys Wyandottes have me seriously contemplating the breed, especially since they ship! Those birds are GORGEOUS!

I am also really liking my Chantecler roo from Sandhill. If you can find a good breeder, you might consider giving them a second chance.
