Help me please... Cortunix quail with his scalp gone

Thank you everyone.
I will leave him untreated medicne wise and see how it goes.
I wont cull him unless he seems to be stressed beyond quiteing. Thank you for your advice though. I dont have a problem keeping him by himself till I work something out ether or putting him in with my little chicks at some point .
He is drinking this morning wich I think is a good sign.
THe scab over his eye , will it eventually wear off on its own. I do not want to touch it I dont know if there is an eye there , if its damaged if it is there or if the socket has a scab extendeing the whole way down , NON of these things seems like it would go well with me trying to do anything with the scab .

My white pharoah's used to do this ever so often. I had them all in one community pen. I had one that would heal up, put him back and he would get beat up by the other males again. For the pharoahs and some chukars I had, I would seperate them and apply neosporin once daily and they always recovered really fast and completely. Some will say yes or no to neosporin but in my experience I have had alot of birds heal very rapidly so have good results. It may look bad now but they are very tenacious, he will heal, you will see. The important this is to keep him isolated and dont put him back with the others til he is completely healed. They are very cannibalistic animals and the first site of blood they he will be in bad shape again quick.

I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but maybe Blue-Kote might work? I know it keeps everyone from picking my chickens and I have been told that you can use it on quail.

This sounds very odd and im still very unsure if it will be successful or not as it was an act in desperation. i today came home to my jap quail hen who was scalped by the other quail in the aviary. ive noticed of all the birds ive got its the jap quails who become injured however they are quite resiliant and live on with thier injuries. over the years ive only had three japs with injuries one was a toe that had been bitten by one of the parrots on one of my male japs. he just happily got on with life however the toe did fall off. 2nd was my jap hen damaged her foot which became swallen and stiff but again got on with life. And today was a new challenge for me, my jap hen had been pecked repeatedly and her skull was exposed. luckily the skin was torn rather then picked off and eaten completely. the little bird was quite calm while i retrieved her and cleaned her wound with anti bacterial wipes but as it was quite a ghastly wound and looking at photos of similar injuries that healed quite horribly i couldnt accept just letting her heal bald and leathery skinned. at the top of my mind this is what i did, im a cosmetologist so i have many products, the first thing i went for was low irritant medical adhesive which is used alternatively to stiches to help heal skin wounds, also used as eyelash extension glue, i realligned the skin on the quails scalp from where it was torn and applied the adhesive with a cotton tip. it dries in under 3 seconds. i then applied some medical tape cut to size to keep flies and pests away. the wound has stayed closed, the bird didnt flinch once and has been put in an isolated cage inside the aviary so the pecking order can stay established without any further pecking. the quail is as active as normal and still eating and drinking and even socialising with those who scalped it through the wire. she seems happy. i am not yet certain if ive infact been quite clever or if this will have a sad outcome. tomorrow will tell ?
